As a young teen, Liz was uprooted from South Korea and sent to live on her own in Canada - forced to learn a new language and culture without any social safety nets to fall back on. As someone inextricably linked to her newcomer identity, she stood strong against relentless discrimination, microaggressions, misogyny and imposter syndrome that often overshadowed her path in Canada.
