About the speaker

Troy Heard is a director and creator of new works. He is currently in his third season as Artistic Director of Las Vegas’s Majestic Repertory Theatre. His projects as an interactive experience creator include MOTEL, based on Schnitzler’s La Ronde; JONESTOWN, devised from the FBI files of Rev. Jim Jones; and Measure for Measure, set in 1970s Las Vegas. His original production Titus Andronicus, Jr. was a finalist for Best Comedy at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and his short film She’s Been Like This Forever has been an official selection of several film festivals. He most recently directed the world premiere of Bigfoot, the Musical by Amber Ruffin (Late Night with Seth Meyers) and was Artist-in-Residence at the Neon Museum.

Troy has received multiple “Best Director” recognitions from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Las Vegas Weekly and Desert Companion Magazine. The latter also designated “Seeing a Troy Heard Production” as a Must-Do for Vegas Newcomers. He earned his MFA in Directing from Savannah College of Art and Design and holds a BSEd in Theatre Education from Columbus State University. Troy is an Associate Member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
