About the speaker
Tracey Beale is a Maryland-based multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of experimental metalsmithing, jewelry design, and art-centered programming. Drawing from the philosophy of alchemy and ancient, East African adornment, she creates spiritually charged jewelry designs called modern relics. She combines metals with found and sentimental objects to offer balance, protection, and meaning.
Her work has been featured in American Craft Magazine and Bmore Art and exhibited at the Chautauqua Institute and Mobilia Gallery. She is a 2019 Diamond Award recipient from Metal & Smith.
Outside of the studio, Tracey produces transformative, art-centered programs informed by over a decade of experience in experiential marketing. She's currently the Director of Public Programs at the Baltimore Museum of Art and co-leads Spiritually Chosen Ministry with her partner Megean McLeod. She holds a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art. She is the daughter of Roosevelt and Deborah Beale and draws inspiration from her personal practice of improvised vocalization and singing as a method of prayer and sound exploration.
