About the speaker
Thembe Khumalo’s writing arouses introspection about many of the things we Africans take for granted. A social, political and business commentator with big opinions, her aim is to provoke us into thinking differently about ourselves and one another, to require more of our leaders and our communities, and to begin to see ourselves more clearly. Thembe brings this passionate thought leadership to public discussions as a contributor, facilitator and moderator, and also drives reflective and motivating conversations as a key note speaker with powerful storytelling capabilities. Her vision for an Africa in which Africans are embracing their authenticity and thriving as a result, makes her one of the leading voices in the area of brand building, business growth and personal development. With a background in media and branding, she is an entrepreneur who describes herself as “an ideas-generating factory”, with a specific focus on helping entrepreneurial leaders and SMEs achieve visibility and growth through comprehensive brand strategy, creative execution and social media content strategies. Her love for words and gift for self-expression are currently hard at work on two book projects to be published later this year.
“The work of community is when a person walks into a room with fear and self-doubt, only to leave with a new narrative and a feeling of possibility and hope. We can give that experience to one another. It’s the work of being human.” Join us this Friday as Thembe speaks to us on the theme “Community” something truly African we shouldn’t take for granted.
