Nomad isn’t only about moving from one place to another — it’s also about what we carry with us along the way. As a doctor turned artist, traveler, and sketcher, Michael Safwat has lived in transition — moving between cities, careers, and ways of expression. Through sketching, journaling, and painting, he has found a way to anchor himself in moments, while still embracing the nomadic spirit.
In this talk, Michael will share stories, reflections, and sketches collected across 20+ cities. He’ll explore what it means to live as a creative nomad, how art can root us in fleeting places, and why sometimes being ungrounded is the only way to truly connect. Expect tales of travel, brushstrokes, and lessons that extend far beyond the page.
