About the speaker
Born and raised in North Dakota's rural landscape, Thane Solberg brings a practical, hands-on approach to their community work. As someone who has personally navigated mental health challenges and recovery, Thane now uses these experiences in their dual professional roles.
At The Ridge Treatment & Reentry Center, Thane serves as a Care Coordinator, helping individuals from all backgrounds navigate the complexities of mental health and addiction. Separately, as Chair of Fargo-Moorhead Pride, they work to create supportive spaces for the LGBTQ+ community.
Thane's straightforward approach comes from understanding the real-world obstacles that people face. Their no-nonsense style combines professional skills with lived experience, creating an authentic connection with those they serve.
With deep roots in North Dakota, Thane is working to develop practical mental health and addiction programming that meets the needs of community members, with a vision to create specialized resources for the underserved queer community. They're focused on creating realistic solutions that work in their home state—where resources have traditionally been limited.
Thane offers something simple but essential: help from someone who's been there, understands the local context, and is committed to making things better, one step at a time.

Our theme for April is CROSSROADS. It was chosen by our Wroclaw chapter in Poland, illustrated by Joanna Gniady, and is presented by Adobe.
We all reach turning points in life that change the course of our destiny. Should you continue straight? Or turn left? There’s no map that shows where the consequences lead.
In folklore and mythology, crossroads represent a gateway between our mortal coil and the supernatural realm. An in-between place of transition, where anything can happen next.
How do you decide which way to go? There’s no wrong choice. Only different journeys to where you’re meant to be.
