FANTASY IS REAL.
Tami Hopf is an art director, illustrator and tattooer from São Paulo, now based in Vevey, Switzerland.
Her journey began in 2008 when she first started Hopf Studio, working mostly on digital illustration. Currently she also plays with tattoo machines and big murals. Her drawings are a mix of joy and sorrow, euphoria and loneliness, often addressing life, love and the paradoxal relation between human beings and nature. Discover her universe is like sinking in a duotone world where evolve enigmatic characters surrounded by a lush vegetation. It's feeling a sweet fear and let our imaginary wander in a strange and surreal beauty. Her work is completely fantasist.
So, what is it about “fantasy” that makes poets write about it, artists draw it, philosophers keep wondering and musicians compose about it?
Fantasy is the freest of the faculties; in fact, it doesn’t even have to concern itself with what it has thought up. Its free to think anything, even the most absurd, incredible or impossible story. At CreativeMornings Tami will propose a reflexion on the value of fantasizing when we are looking for ideas and solutions to real life issues. She will share with us how fantasy guide her on creative process, how fantasy is related to our memory and how it affects the perception of ourselves and our own reality. Until there, we let you imagine...
