About the speaker

Shideh Faramand is an Iranian-Australian writer, director, actor, and creative producer living and working on Giabal and Jarowair Country (Toowoomba, Queensland). Her work spans theatre, screen, and community storytelling. Shaped by her Persian heritage, a life that hasn’t followed a straight path, and a deep affection for the beautiful mess of being human, Shideh is drawn to the small, human stories that quietly change us. She believes deeply in the power of storytelling as a way of making meaning— a creative tool for connection and for navigating what life asks of us.
