About the speaker
Sanjay Gubbi is a conservation biologist and founder of Holématthi Nature Foundation. He has a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Kent, and a PhD in Leopard Ecology and Conservation from Kuvempu University, Karnataka. With focus on large carnivores like tigers and leopards in Karnataka, Gubbi works at the intersection of policy making, education, research and field work, while engaging with diverse stakeholders including the government and local communities. He has authored many books and also conducts outreach initiatives through Holématthi Nature Information Center in Chamarajanagara district, which regularly hosts student groups from local schools as part of wildlife-awareness programmes.
