About the speaker

Ryan & Jen Hidinger founded Staplehouse, an underground supper club, in 2009 and quickly made a name for themselves in the food community of Atlanta. Just as their dreams of opening a restaurant were beginning to appear possible, everything changed: in December of 2012, Ryan, 35, was diagnosed with stage IV gallbladder cancer.

Overnight, the years of positive momentum came to a screeching halt, and Staplehouse was put on permanent hold. Ryan will tell the story of how the Atlanta community rallied behind them to resurrect Staplehouse to not only become a restaurant, but to be the first-ever modern, farm-to-table restaurant powered by award-winning chefs that will never make a single cent.
