About the speaker
Robin de Vogel and Josiah Tsang are two-thirds of The BirdTsang, an Amsterdam-based ceramics studio that was born out of love for craftsmanship, culinary arts and design. Josiah originally hails from Canada and Robin from Aruba, and they have been educated at the Ceramics Department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Arts in Amsterdam.
The BirdTsang studio creates bespoke ceramic tableware that compliments and heightens the dining experience through distinct and durable designs. Through their professional background in the hospitality industry, along with their education in art and design, they offer a deeper understanding and alternative process in the industry. Their aim is aiding chefs in presenting their creations on unique tableware which emphasises a dish to its fullest. These young designers have worked together with some amazing chefs both in The Netherlands and internationally.
As designers they are constantly challenging themselves and their craft with a perpetual drive for innovative applications of clay as a medium to tell a story.
