🕯 Release Stress + Restore Energy for High Achieving Humans

Overview 439 Lovely Attendees

About this FieldTrip

Feeling a little (or a lot) on edge, burnt out, like you just can’t get your brain to shut up? You’re not alone. The past few years have been ROUGH on our nervous systems. Even more so if you’re a high achieving human with high self expectations trying to do big, creative things in the world.

Come exactly as you are to reset your nervous system. We’ll use gentle, trauma-informed, science based practices to release stored stress, anxiety, and tension from the body. This class feels similar to a gentle yoga class but has even less movement. You’ll likely experience a restored sense of safety and ease in your body. You may notice more energy, lightness, and a sense of inner peace both during class and for days, sometimes weeks, after!

✨WHAT TO EXPECT

✔️ We’ll begin with a brief introduction to stress and the nervous system.

✔️ We’ll then move into a 50 minute practice that combines gentle breathwork and movement, mindfulness and centering practices, polyvagal exercises, and somatic practices designed to support your nervous system and release stress and tension.

✔️ The last 5 minutes are reserved for sharing your experience (optional), questions, and closing out the group.

✔️ Prepare to leave feeling rested, recharged, and armed with a variety of exercises you can take back with you to release stress and restore your energy throughout your full, busy days.

🎒 WHAT TO BRING

✔️This class is best done on the floor with a mat (doesn’t have to be a yoga mat) overlaid with a soft blanket and a few pillows handy. If the floor is inaccessible feel free to create a space for yourself on a bed or couch. The goal is a supportive but comfortable spot with room to lie down and move around.

✔️ Wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. Regulating the nervous system can result in temperature changes so you may want to have layers on hand.

✔️ Please have a pillow, stuffed animal, or rolled up bath towel on hand.

🪪 WHO THIS CLASS IS FOR?

✔️ Anyone who holds stress in their body and wants to access a baseline level of greater calm and ease.

✔️ Anyone feeling like they’re always on the go, struggling to quiet their brains and finding it hard to slow down or relax.

✔️ Those feeling burnout, exhausted, and depleted. If traditional yoga or exercise feels like too much, you’ll likely find this to be a gentle and supportive practice.

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
