This month, we gather around the theme PROCRASTINATE with a workshop-style event that explores the many sides of putting things off.
This is an interactive, video-on type event which requires presence and participation. The event is limited to 100 participants. Attendees will have four rooms to choose from:
PRODUCE: A supportive space to work on the thing(s) you’ve been putting off. Bring your to-do list and let’s do this. Hosted by Tara Segall and Andrew Lee.
PLAY: A casual space to explore and celebrate your creativity, just for the sake of it. Show up with supplies, a half-baked idea, or just an open mind. Hosted by India Torrez.
PAUSE: A wellness space for intentional rest and reflection. Join for movement, meditation, and a practice of gratitude. Hosted by Rissa Wray and Kristina Rich.
PAUSE: A Black affinity space for processing and healing. Black folx are invited to unpack current events and explore joy and rest as a form of resistance. Hosted by mental health professional Ray'nell Tillman.
Digital doors open at 8:15am, programming starts by 8:30, and we should be done around 10:30. Pre-registration is required (but free!).
Tell your friends! Notify your boss. Turn off your notifications and give yourself time on a Friday to meet the idea of procrastination where it feels right for you. We can’t wait to see you!
A Note:
As we lean into the theme of ‘procrastinate,’ a reminder to be gentle with yourself and others—time is a construct and your productivity does not define your worth.
People procrastinate for all kinds of reasons and though it has a negative connotation in our society, putting things off is not necessarily a bad thing.
Procrastination is also a deeply complex issue when you consider it in the context of neurodivergence, trauma, burnout, capitalism, white supremacy, and other systems, identities, and experiences.
The belief that we should always be productive is a violence that oppresses our spirit. Rest. Breathe. Heal before you hustle. We love you. ♥
