📸 PhotograPals Club #5

Brooklyn, 11215

About this Club

One of the best things you can do in this city is go for a walk, and a lot of people choose to do it with a camera. Sometimes, that experience is nicer when you have company with you!

The PhotograPals aim to be a photography club that celebrates the joy of taking photos and sharing/talking about them. For a lot of creatives who also work professionally, sometimes we tend to get stuck in the business part so we hope to be a space to create an intention of enjoying the photographic process itself.

See what it’s like for yourself!

✨WHAT TO EXPECT

✔️ People can expect to gather at different neighborhoods for some coffee or tea, and doing a walk as a group with the expectation of taking photos along the way, but also to just be in the company of other people that just enjoy photography itself.

✔️ It’s open to all skill levels and involvement, whether you shoot professionally or have just taken up the hobby. We want to be respectful of other’s lived experiences and their relationship to photography and encourage an inclusive space.

🎒WHAT TO KNOW OR BRING

✔️ Bring Your camera of choice (digital, film, phone, all are welcome!) and comfortable footwear.

ABOUT YOUR HOST

I’m a photographer who started off as a hobbyist and somehow it became a bigger part of my professional story. I’ve always wanted to join a photography club since I got into it later in life, but most of what I’ve seen focused on just talking about camera equipment, or how to make money with it. I wanted to make a community that just enjoys the act of taking photos for the pursuit of self-expression, and just getting better at a craft that we all enjoy.
