About the speaker

Paul (Arlo) Guthrie blinked the lights for a friend’s band at a small nightclub in Melbourne, Australia when he was 17 and has since gone on to design over 50 world concert tours. Over his 40 year career he has designed for Nine Inch Nails, Olivia Rodrigo, Melanie Martinez, Halsey, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen, Miranda Lambert, Kanye West and many more as well as large scale events for Red Bull, The Super Bowl, Saturday Night Live and the Wicked movie premier. He has worked all over the world and moved from Melbourne to Sydney to Amsterdam to London before settling in Minneapolis and brings a knowledge of all visual mediums (stage, spacial, video, projection, scenic, cinematography, graphic art) and a musical background to his projects. While designing for national and international artists he has also designed locally for Twin Cities Public Television, Hippo Campus, The New Standards, The Minnesota Orchestra, Dessa/Doomtree and Semisonic.

This year he is designing tours for Nine Inch Nails, Finneas and Kelly Clarkson as well as for Timothée Chamalet on SNL and the Billboard Women in Music Awards in Los Angeles.
