Your facilitators will explain the concept of the zine-making activity as a container for contemplation, and why we are interested particularly in the unseen domestic scaffolding that supports the artistâs life.
-
Weâll demonstrate how to fold a zine from one sheet of paper. The only supplies you need for this workshop are paper (standard printer paper will do) and a writing utensil! - Weâll provide prompts for brainstorming activities to get you thinking.
-
Then, you will use the pages of your zine as a sketchbook or container for these ideas! Make a list, write a poem, doodle a picture.
-
Finally, you will have the option to share your work and hear from fellow attendees, as well as learn how to keep in touch and participate by contributing to a forthcoming collaborative zine.
-
Remember, this is an open-ended activity! Whether you come away with a completed zine or feel like youâre just beginning, we hope you leave inspired to consider how you make a home in which your art can survive.
