ITA: Nuno Escudeiro (1986, Tomar, Portogallo) è un regista italiano con un master in Media Studies presso l’Università di Aveiro e una specializzazione in regia di film documentari presso la ZeLIG – Scuola per il documentario di Bolzano. Il suo lavoro si concentra sui paesaggi politicizzati e sull’esplorazione delle idiosincrasie dei territori e delle popolazioni colpite da eventi trasformativi come le migrazioni e i cambiamenti climatici. Il suo primo lungometraggio documentario, The Valley (2019), ha ricevuto l’Emerging International Filmmaker Award a Hot Docs Toronto ed è stato proiettato a livello internazionale in collaborazione con il Consiglio dei diritti umani delle Nazioni Unite, Arte, Public Sénat, International Commission of Jurists, tra gli altri. L’ultimo film, Death of a Mountain (2023) che sarà proiettato durante Analogica 14 a Bolzano il 13.11.24, è stato presentato in anteprima all’IndieLisboa International Film Festival e ha ricevuto il premio Anthropocene Muse al Trento Film Festival e il premio per il miglior film portoghese all’International Film Festival di Santarém.
ENG: Nuno Escudeiro (1986, Tomar, Portugal) is an Italy-based filmmaker with an MA in Media Studies from the University of Aveiro and a specialization in Documentary Film Directing from ZeLIG - School for Documentary in Bolzano, Italy. His work focuses on politicized landscapes and the exploration of the idiosyncrasies of territories and populations affected by transformative events such as migration and climate change.
His debut feature documentary, The Valley (2019), received the Emerging International Filmmaker Award at Hot Docs Toronto and was screened internationally in collaboration with the United Nations Human Rights Council, Arte, Public Sénat, International Commission of Jurists, among others.
Nuno Escudeiro’s latest film, Death of a Mountain (2023), premiered at the IndieLisboa International Film Festival and was awarded the Anthropocene Muse award at Trento Film Festival and Best Portuguese Film award at the International Film Festival of Santarém.
His work has been presented at BFI London Film Festival, Uppsala Short Film Festival, Les Arcs, DOK.fest München, DocPoint Helsinki, Festival d'Avignon, Tiger Dublin Fringe and other venues and festivals.
DEU: Nuno Escudeiro (1986, Tomar, Portugal) ist ein italienischer Regisseur mit einem Masterabschluss in Medienwissenschaften von der Universität Aveiro und einer Spezialisierung im Dokumentarfilmbereich von ZeLIG, der Bozner Schule für Dokumentarfilme, Fernsehen und neue Medien. In seiner Arbeit konzentriert er sich auf politisierte Landschaften und die Erforschung der Eigenheiten von Gebieten und Bevölkerungen, die von transformativen Ereignissen wie Migration und Klimawandel betroffen sind. Sein erster abendfüllender Dokumentarfilm, The Valley (2019), wurde bei Hot Docs Toronto mit dem Emerging International Filmmaker Award ausgezeichnet. In Zusammenarbeit mit Organisationen wie dem Menschenrechtsrat der Vereinten Nationen, Public Sénat und International Commission of Jurists wurde er international gezeigt. Nuno Escudeiros jüngster Film, Death of a Mountain (2023), wird am 13.11.24 auf dem Festival Analogica 14 in Bozen gezeigt. Er wurde auf dem internationalen Filmfestival IndieLisboa uraufgeführt und erhielt die Auszeichnung Anthropocene Muse auf dem Trento Film Festival sowie den Preis für den besten portugiesischen Film auf dem Internationalen Filmfestival Santarém.
