About the speaker

Nancy Castillo and Racene Nguyen were friends with a daydream before they were owners of Reverie Bakeshop in 2013. It is an all vegan bakery in Richardson, TX offering gluten-free options and a wide variety of pastries and cakes that include classic donuts, kolaches, cheesecakes, French Macarons, cupcakes, and more!

Nancy Castillo is originally from Laredo, a South Texas border town. Nancy has been vegan for 22 years and is a certified Le Cordon Bleu Pastry Chef, has a BA in Science Education, and Minor in Billingual Education. Prior to opening Reverie Bakeshop, Nancy taught briefly at DISD, lead a local award winning bakery as their Head Pastry Chef, and got to work with award winning pastry chefs in the DFW Metroplex.

Racene Mendoza is a Dallas native and a self-taught cake decorator who has been baking and decorating cakes for over 18 years now. Racene comes from a family of entrepreneurs and was highly influenced by her Aunt Blanca's cake decorating skills. Prior to opening Reverie, Racene worked as an office manager at a Mortgage Loan Company where she excelled for her organizational and social skills.
