Brandon Butler, Executive Director
At Dagger, Brandon wears two hats, leading priority technology projects and overseeing day-to-day operations for the Butter team. With Brandon at the helm, Butter has become one of the most sought-after voices of perspective, insight, and education in the city, now with over 100,000 organic followers. Brandon came to Dagger a seasoned marketing and creative leader, having led successful digital and creative teams at Accenture, Edelman, Public Broadcasting Atlanta, and NBA Digital. At Butter, Brandon oversees day-to-day operations and creative teams to produce culturally relevant content for Atlanta’s culture channel. Named to Adweek’s Creative 100 in 2021, and Atlanta Magazine’s 500 Most Powerful Leaders (2020, 2021), Brandon has become an in-demand speaker and panelist in the region and beyond, participating in opportunities alongside former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Killer Mike, Chubb Rock, Ryan Gravel (the man behind the Atlanta Beltine), and more. Brandon obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Georgia Southern University and received his MBA from The Georgia Institute of Technology.
Michael Jordan, Editor-In-Chief
A veteran Atlanta-based journalist, Michael began his career in the music business, working in the marketing and creative departments at Atlanta’s venerated recording company LaFace Records until the company closed in 2000. He pivoted to media and has since covered a wide scope of local and national stories in entertainment, business, technology, food, travel, music, arts, and culture. His work has been published at The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Playboy, Eater, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta magazine, Creative Loafing, and Thrillist, where he launched the Atlanta edition and served as its founding editor and bureau chief from 2008 to 2012. Jordan is also co-author of former NFL linebacker Takeo Spikes' book, Behind the Mask, and a co-founder of Canopy Atlanta, a nonprofit organization that trains journalists to deliver news from inside communities historically underserved by traditional media. He is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in media, an avid home cook, and enjoys playing alto saxophone in his spare time.
