About the speaker
Meredith will speak from her background as a maker, educator, and everyday user/absorber/enjoyer of color. She experiences a neurological phenomenon called synesthesia, in which cognitive pathways associated with the senses are cross-wired, and her letter and number forms have colors. While Meredith has not chosen and cannot control the colors she associates with each letter, this condition distinctly affects the way she perceives, organizes, and remembers information. Perhaps your C’s are yellow and L’s are purple, too? Whether your color associations are involuntary or built out of preference or taste, Meredith will leave you thinking about the language and memories that we attach to our color experiences.
