What it takes to be a pioneer
About the speaker
15 years ago, when everyone in Lithuania was still afraid of contemporary dance, “circus” was only associated with a trained bear on a tricycle and young theatre director could work in theatre only with the invitation, Arts Printing House (“Menų spaustuvė”) was born.
Creators of contemporary performing arts centre believed that new artists needed a place and social space to start creating and don’t be afraid to fail. Since then, Arts Printing House became home for many NGO’s, started welcoming young artists and they were the first ones to introduce contemporary circus.
Once started as a pioneer, Arts Printing House now makes sure that the voice and ideas of young artists would have a place to live and grow.
Giedrė, senior event manager, and Gabrielė - international program coordinator will tell you their story.
