About the speaker
Maryanne Moodie is a Melbourne-based fibre artist and educator known for her vibrant, textural tapestries that bridge traditional weaving techniques with contemporary design. Working almost exclusively with reclaimed and sustainable fibres, her practice explores memory, transition, and community connection. Maryanne has exhibited internationally, collaborated with design studios and brands including Madewell, Cable, Dulux, and Fenton & Fenton, and her works are held in collections such as Soho House, the Intercontinental Hotel Dubai, and the U.S. Embassy in Chad. She is also the author of two books, On the Loom (2016) and The Modern Weaver (2021).
