Livia Urban Swart Haaland

We are thrilled to announce Livia Urban Swart Haaland, Co-founder of ØsterGRO - the first roof farm in Denmark

Livia is a former architecture student, but after learning about the cultivation of vegetables in the city she has changed course and is currently studying organic gardening. She is a plant cultivation expert and responsible for the plants and the general care of the vegetables - and people - on the rooftop. ØsterGRO is not just her job, it is her passion.
At the event, she will talk about the importance and role of urban farming - and about how they at ØsterGRO have managed to create and run a sustainable urban space

ØsterGRO is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful spots in Copenhagen with 600 m2 on top of Copenhagen's oldest car auction house, the Nellemann house. ØsterGRO offers a vegetable field, bees, greenhouses, chickens, rabbits, compost and an outdoor kitchen. The vision behind ØsterGRO is not only that cities in the future should be self-sufficient with food grown on the roofs - but also to create a link between the land and the city.
