About the speaker
ジョイ・ジャーマン・ウォルシュ @jjwalsh はハワイ育ちだが、30年近く日本に住み、働いている。1991年に九州の大分県で生まれ、その後広島に移り住み、現在は2人のバイリンガルの子供を育てながら、古民家を購入してリノベーションしている。
大学教育者として21年間働いた後、サステナビリティに焦点を当てた起業家として独立。1999年にGetHiroshimaという広島に住む外国人や観光客のための情報サイトを共同設立し、2019年にはインバウンド・アンバサダーというサステナビリティに特化したビジネスを立ち上げた。
2020年からは、トークショー・ポッドキャスト「Seek Sustainable Japan」の制作とホストを務める。このシリーズには現在、「日本で素晴らしいことをしている善良な人々」へのインタビューが450以上ある。このSeek-Sustainable-Japanの番組は、持続可能性の3つのP（人、地球、利益）の問題や戦略にアイデアをつなげながら、他の人々の素晴らしい仕事を促進することを目的としている。
Joy Jarman-Walsh @jjwalsh grew up in Hawaii but has lived and worked in Japan for almost 30 years. Started in Oita, Kyushu in 1991, she ended up staying in Hiroshima where she has now raised 2 bicultural-bilingual kids as well as bought and renovated an old MINKA (Japanese house).
Joy worked as a university educator for 21 years before going solo as a sustainability-focused entrepreneur. She co-founded the Hiroshima area resource for international residents and visitors called GetHiroshima in 1999, and in 2019 founded her sustainability-focused business called Inbound Ambassador.
Since 2020, Joy has produced and hosted the Seek Sustainable Japan talkshow-podcast. The series now has over 450 interviews with "good people doing great things in Japan ''. This Seek-Sustainable-Japan show aims to promote the great work of others while connecting ideas to issues & strategies of the 3 P's of sustainability: people, planet & profits.
