A photographer shares 20 years of stories from the punk rock scene—from getting dumped by his first band to shooting My Chemical Romance at Madison Square Garden—revealing how community, authenticity, and unexpected kindness shaped his career and life.

About the speaker

Jered Scott is the raddest and baddest punk rock photographer the Chattanooga area has ever known. With nearly 2 decades under his belt, that means he’s pretty dang old. Those years saw him on tour, shooting huge festivals, working for record labels and magazines, and traveling to other countries to document what he loves most…people.

To know Jered is to know he has a passion for people. Photography became the device for him to amplify other people’s bands, brands, stories, and more. Those who enjoy his work say they can always tell “a Jered photo” when it comes across their feed, and to some, he has affectionately become known as ‘Magic Eye.’

When he’s not shooting a punk rock show or local business, you can find him in town getting an iced vanilla latte with oat milk with Danny, or hanging out with his wife, kids and pup.

He has worked with bands like Blink 182, Rise Against, and Dashboard Confessional

His work has been featured in Alternative Press, HM Magazine, and albums on Warner Brothers, Island Def Jam and Universal.
