Jason Muir

Jason Muir is a career hairdresser with over 30 years of experience, managing clientele with various commercial ventures along the way. Through a strong emphasis on his creative output in his early career, he looked to place his trade in unique creative contexts, often presented in publicly accessible spaces.

Jason's main body of work has been under the Political Cutz banner, offering free haircuts in exchange for political conversations. Ranging from election focussed pop-up free hair salons, and online streamed salon interviews, to working with
Government agencies - uniquely creating conversational data.

This has led Jason to be the current Director of Urban Dream Brokerage. A Te Whanganui-a-Tara based creative agency, working to put people and participation at the heart of enlivening our city. Having developed his profile as a public artist with a passion for bringing participatory activations to life, he is proud to be helping make opportunities for others to create community, in engaging and artistic ways, through the work of UDB.
