About the speaker
Jade Kake (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Whakaue, Te Whakatōhea) is an architectural designer and writer. She leads a small team at Matakohe Architecture and Urbanism, a Whangārei-based kaupapa Māori design studio which she founded in mid-2018. Matakohe works with Māori organisations on their marae, papakāinga and civic projects, and with mana whenua groups to express their cultural values and narratives through the design of their physical environments.
Jade is currently leading several projects to support the re-establishment and development of papakāinga within Whangārei district and leading the cultural narrative integration component on a number of public space projects within Whangārei city. In 2018, she hosted and produced Indigenous Urbanism, a podcast about the spaces we inhabit, and the community drivers and practitioners who are shaping these environments and decolonising through design. She has written for a variety of housing and architecture magazines and contributed chapters to several books on architecture and urbanism.
Join us Friday 26th March to hear from the incredible Jade Kake on the theme of Ripple, her processes and work at Matakohe.

At antipodes we believe the heroes of the table should be the food and fine wine so we chose a water source that has a mineral fingerprint subtle enough to refresh but not alter the palate. Antipodes is very proud to support CreativeMornings Auckland because everything we do in life requires a creative mind.
We love that we make every jar of Fix & Fogg from start to finish in our factory in Wellington. From designing our labels to our carefully blended peanut butter, we’re completely hands-on throughout the entire process. We think our award-winning butters are so popular because people can taste the difference in a product that’s handmade by humans who care about quality.
Pals since the 90s, Joe & Mike have shared years of questionable fashion choices and ridiculous business plans. After some dodgy batches and accidental fermentation we perfected our syrups for cocktails and sodas in our Wellington dive bar and in 2012 we started Six Barrel Soda Co. with a lofty mission to shake up a flat soft drink market with experimental flavours and a new level of quality
