About the speaker
Bound to roam but this is home.
Bound to stray but here I’ll stay.
Hillery Kemp loves making ideas come to life, especially the wildest, most adventurous ones. She's run a stationery business out of a 1971 postal Jeep, taken a container ship across the Pacific, and repurposed a minivan named Homer for an epic journey across the US.
She considers her skillset akin to a Swiss army knife and has worked both agency-side and in-house for design studios in California and Arizona.
As a native Phoenician who recently returned from a decade on the west coast, she's made it a priority to not only find, but build an even greater creative community in her hometown.
Stray Native is a creative social group she’s co-founded that brings passionate individuals in the valley together to foster curiosity, creativity and culture.

AIGA Arizona is on a mission to nurture creative curiosity and use programming, resources and mentorship to empower the voices in our community to create a lasting impact.
Established in 1989 as the local chapter of AIGA, the professional association of design, volunteers build programming to help improve design ability for Arizona creative professionals. They connect with complementary disciplines of creativity and expression. They prioritize social impact. And they promote community excellence. How? By providing resources and access to all creative professionals within the state and making sure that underrepresented communities have a seat at the table.
