Discover how Hannah Stelter turns messy lines into empowering art, inspiring us all to love ourselves a little more.

Hannah Stelter is a queer local artist who’s main focus is empowering people to love themselves a little more. Her signature artwork is what she calls a “Scribble Portrait” or a scribbly abstract drawing of the nude human form. Through her work she helps people embrace the beauty of their uniqueness, reminding people that their bodies, hobbies, emotions, and every part of them is what makes them special. She hopes that when people see her art, they find a piece they connect with and can hang on their wall to remind them that they, too, are a piece of art. Her work embraces body positivity, sex positivity, and mental health. Shes been featured in BuzzFeed, shes given a TEDx talk, and just recently came out with an online course teaching new artists how to get started turning their passion into a career! And in case you didn’t know she is also the founder of Scribble Lady, our local art supply store just down the road at 408 Broadway dedicated to the art of imperfection. Scribble Lady hosts art events like poetry open mic and live figure drawing, as well as selling art supplies for our local artists and creatives! They even have an art gallery in the back and host group and solo art shows for new and professional artists in the community! Their current group show “ The Little Gay Exhibition” featuring local queer artists is open until August 31st so go check it out! In the same way her portraits help people love themselves, Scribble Lady is here to help locals and creatives fall in love with art.
