Sharon Leung

Architect/Designer at Be Shui.

Los Angeles, CA, USA

I’m a trained architect, writer & educator based in Los Angeles. At my mindful design practice, Be æ°Ž Shui(Be Water) I help people find flow state in their space. Everyone deserves to feel well in their space. Currently I’m writing about my wellness journey since moving to LA and researching about Basement Workshop(1971-1986 Chinatown, NYC). I’ve taught “Designing Spaces for Humans” at Index Space. You often will find me hiking and on the look out for native plants!

About this FieldTrip

We spend 87% of time indoors - between work and home. Our environments directly affect us, especially when we spend most of our time inside. Our spaces should be places in which you find your flow state and be your best self.

I’m Sharon, a trained architect and just launched a mindful design practice called be shui (be water). Everyone deserves spaces they feel well in. I’m hoping to be of service to others and make this more accessible, kind of like therapy for your space!

In this workshop you will get an introduction to Feng Shui for interior spaces and understand what you need to find your flow. We will sketch and reimagine an existing space so bring a pen/pencil and some paper!

Agenda

  • Short presentation about me & my approach to Feng Shui and flow.

  • Sketch your space! 10 min - what is working, what is not working?

  • Map your space and understand what vectors are important(lighting, views).

  • Reimagine/sketch your space!

  • Discuss as a group - Questions, learnings

What to know or bring

  • Bring your preferred sketching utensil and some paper!

What to expect

Workshop format!

A hands-on session where participants get to build, craft, or create something tangible.

It will be recorded!

The recording will be shared within 24 hours in the follow up email for a 4-day window, and available at the top of this page. Make sure to register for access!

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And
” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
