About the speaker
Vinita Kaur Chiragia, an eco-builder and architect specializes in sustainable architectural design with a love for community-centric projects. She believes all projects need an eye of detail but not at the cost of the environment. Through architectural workshops and articles, she advocates eco-friendly and sustainable architecture. Along with an array of projects, she is an artist at heart who enjoys embroidery, crochet, tailoring, fabric painting, calligraphy and craves to do more.
Design Jatra is a socio- architectural initiative that began in 2013. Roaming through rural Maharashtra 3 friends realised that traditional built forms were being replaced with insensitive buildings. This led to an on-ground understanding of the many problems, ranging from insensitive concrete jungles to urban migration. As a response to these issues, Design Jatra started learning and strengthening rural communities which held traditional wisdom. It also aims at facilitating the urban-rural dialogue and helping people through natural architecture who wish to have a lifestyle shift towards a holistic and natural way of living.
