Conspirituality podcast co-host Derek Beres opens up about his evolution from being a participant in the wellness industry to applying a critical lens to for-profit healthcare and health misinformation in the U.S.

“One of my hobbies,” Derek Beres jokes, “is to go websites, click on the studies, and then read them.” In this important and timely talk, Derek breaks down the parallels in medicine and wellness, and why seeing the patterns and differences can be a matter of life and death. He walks us through how the unregulated wellness industry manipulates data and uses fear-based marketing, because they profit more when their customers understand less. And (because this talk is not too good to be true!) he shares what to look out for, so you can identify bad players and misinformation.
