Khongor Bayar and Nandin Bayar are the sisters behind The Makery, a multidisciplinary creative space in Ulaanbaatar centered around creativity, community, and shared experiences.

Khongor has a professional background in visual design and creative direction, while Nandin brings a deeply intuitive and aesthetic eye for atmosphere, hospitality, and meaningful creative experiences.

Growing up, the sisters were surrounded by making - hence the name “The Makery” - from hand-sewn clothes and handmade toys to home-cooked creative meals and beautifully assembled celebrations, shaped in many ways by their mother’s creative, do-it-yourself spirit. That same sensibility now shapes The Makery’s approach to creativity, community, and contemporary creative culture in Mongolia.
