Beyond work, she volunteers with her local library foundation and has served on the board of the College Career Consortium of Illinois. A published author, Amandaâs stories have been featured in anthologies and media outlets such as McSweeneyâs and the Chicago Sun-Times. Sheâs a public speaker, a frequent podcast guest, and has spoken at storytelling events including The Moth. She holds a BA from Illinois Wesleyan University, and certificates from New York University and Northwestern University. She lives in the Chicagoland area.

Whether you’re a writer, artist, or creative in general, this beginner-friendly session aims to help participants find the inspiration all around us.
Please bring something to write on/with. This could be the computer you're already using or a journal and pen - whatever is most comfortable for you!
If you'd like, you may also identify 2-3 pieces of art you wish to write about, but don't worry - I'll also have some options for you if you don't!
A hands-on session where participants get to build, craft, or create something tangible.
