About the speaker

Chelsea Boos is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, community advocate and heritage-loving settler in Treaty 6 territory and Métis Nation of Alberta Region 4. She is grateful to be based in amiskwaciwâskahikan (Beaver Hills House in Cree language) or Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Chelsea graduated from University of Alberta in 2006 as a Bachelor of Design with Honours Distinction.

Chelsea is passionate about art and design created with community. She is a contributor to 3 Edmonton Urban Design Award winning Community Projects; Colour Alley (2011), Dirt City|Dream City (2013) and LIVINGbridge (2013). She coordinated Colour Alley and Dirt City¦Dream City as Transitory Public Art Coordinator of the program at Edmonton Arts Council from 2011-2012.

Chelsea believes in holding safe® space for all artists to take risks and learn by doing. She curated the gallery known as Spazio Performativo in her role as Visual Art Outreach Coordinator at Mile Zero Dance in 2015-2016, as well as Edmonton’s Park(ing) Day from 2014-2017.
