About the speaker
Charlotte Hoe is the second-generation owner and enamel artist at ROYAL INSIGNIA. One of the last remaining enamellist in Singapore, Charlotte was trained in England, United States and China in the techniques of cloisonnĂ©, champlevĂ©, plique a jour, paillonnĂ© and painted enamel . Her range of enameling techniques as well as her knowledge in silversmithing make her a sought-after collaborator for projects involving the art of enameling. One of her notable projects includes a commission by a local not for profit organization for the President of Singapore. Charlotteâs enameled work also decorates the objet dâart ROYAL INSIGNIA crafts for royal families and head of states from around the world.
Passionate about sustaining the vanishing art of enameling, Charlotte is dedicated to breathing life into this traditional craft. She has spearheaded several local initiatives to introduce Singaporeans to the beauty of this art form. For example, she has hosted enamel workshops for Singapore Design Week, Chanel Haute Horlogerie, Vacheron Constantin, and more.
