Here’s an incentive to get your taxes done this week! You’ll want to join us on tax day for a special super-sized FieldTrip hosted by Guayakí Yerba Mate. We’ll be taking a private tour and get a behind-the-scenes look at their installation at Native Hostel.
Come join your fellow morning people for a behind the scenes tour of I AM THIS, an immersive VR experience, part of Guayakí Yerba Mate’s month-long event series in Austin this April - Come To Life: Austin.
Projected on an 18ft dome, “I Am This” envelops the viewer in a 360-degree universe of stunning visuals and animations. Filmmaker Cyrus Sutton will be taking this extended 20-minute version of this film on tour to Austin, NYC, LA and Burning Man in 2019, with Austin being the premiere of this experiential event. One engages even before entering the dome with an interactive rainforest created by artist Milecee I’anson. She is known for her hand-coded ‘aesthetic sonification’ system, interactive sculptures and plant bio-feedback.
The morning will consist of experiencing the full event together followed by a group conversation with the local creatives behind the design, including the filmmaker and Guayakí’s events team. We will go in depth about the vision and intention behind this art installation as part of Guayakí Yerba Mate’s month-long Austin Campaign.
Ditch your coffee that morning, and enjoy complimentary Nitro Mate on tap.
This is a more traditional format where participants absorb information through presentations and talks.
This FieldTrip will not be recorded.

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.
Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.
Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!
Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.
We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things. Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.
It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
