About the speaker

Ash Nash is a grassroots organizer, Black arts and community activist and consultant. Her vision, leadership and socio-economic strategies irrefutably ensure spaces for Black creators to genuinely express themselves to access sustainable careers. Her work combines storytelling of observations and experiences in regards to economic and systemic injustices against Black cultures.

Notably, Nash's work has reinforced the vital urgency to invest and enhance Black creative careers. She was the conceptualist and General for the 'Kaeperbowl Movement' , Atlanta organizer for Colin Kaepernick's 'Know Your Rights Camp' and Executive Producer for the 'The Art of Protest' Films on Rolling Stone with Directors Colin Day, Dave Navarro and Indeline Global Arts Activist collective. Her organizing work and citywide public art activitiations have been internationally recognized in BBC UK, Rolling Stone Magazine, Museum of Design Atlanta, Orange Barrel Media, Downtown Atlanta Arts and Entertainment and the Atlanta Beltline. Most recently she was a co-curator for the 2022 6XTYONE Citywide Digital Art Exhibition for the Inauguration of Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens.

Lastly, Ash was an adjunct Professor for Emory University's 2020 Inaugural Arts and Social Justice (ASJ) cohort teaching Film, Media and the Art of Social change to over twenty students across five continents. She also serves the Atlanta community as Executive Board Member of the African Diasporic Art Museum of Atlanta, MINT Gallery located in Southwest Atlanta and on the Atlanta Task Force for Philanthropic Reparations which feeds her passion of challenging and advising Executive leadership to take accountability in overhauling the infrastructures that oppress Black creators.
