About the speaker
Co-founder of MashRoots, Arnaldo Vazquez was born and raised in Puerto Rico near the south region of the island. His mother Lucy, being a stay at home mom cooked delicious meals every day, sparked his interest in cooking. From a very young age, he grew up cooking and tasting authentic foods along his mother, and to this date she is the most influential cook. After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, he moved to Cincinnati to work for Procter & Gamble. For the first time he was away from family, friends and Puerto Rico, bringing the nostalgia of traditional home cooked meals, music, dancing, playing dominoes, beautiful beaches and tropical weather. Cooking was an easy way to bring friends together, have a good time and make Cincinnati the new home away from home.
