From fantasy to reality, learn how our city is building ladders of opportunity by activating a USDOT-funded strategy for technology and transportation innovation
It’s no secret that Columbus is quickly becoming the next ‘It’ city. Most recently, our fair city was awarded the Smart City grant - a $40 million grant that will be used for developing Columbus’ technological and transportation amenities. After local matching, Columbus will use a total of $140 million to upgrade our transportation system.
This month our theme is ‘Fantasy’ - and we want to fantasize about the future of our city. How could digital communication between Columbus planes, trains, and automobiles shape our future?
Could we become ‘Test City’ for more than sweet treats and salty snacks - and prototype flying cars? Beyond the “cool factor”, what could this mean for our quality of life here in the Heartland?
Aparna Dial will join us and share more about what’s ahead - she was named the Deputy Director of the Smart City grant in 2016. With many years of public service experience, two engineering degrees, an MBA, and a general background of managing people, budgets, and projects - she will give us some insight on what it means to bring our fantasies to life.
