The incredible story of Vieques (Puerto Rico) put into context by a resident of the island.

What would you do when a natural disaster transforms your life overnight?

The island of Vieques (Puerto Rico) is home to our December speaker, Amy Gordon, a freelance writer and now an activist for the virtue of her people who were (still are) left dealing with the aftermath of two major 2017 hurricanes, Irma and Maria. No power, no food, no help, just hope.

Hear Amy share her remarkable story of becoming a key figure in bringing global awareness to the plight of her beloved island at a time when every bit of help meant a chance to save a life. This talk also puts the power of the crowd into perspective by emphasizing how a few kind people coming together can make a big impact for so many. Enjoy the visuals.
