Alexandru Stermin

Alexandru N. Stermin is a biologist, explorer, and teacher. At the Faculty of Biology and Geology of UBB, he teaches courses in the comparative anatomy of vertebrates, neurobiology and brain evolution, ethology, bioethics and human ecology. He is licensed in biology and theology and has graduated with a master's degree in philosophy and a training program in positive psychotherapy.

He participated in expeditions in the Jungle of South America and Siberia, and was a scholar at the University of Greifswald and at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. He is actively involved in the popularization of science and the conservation of nature. In 2015, he contributed to the series Fauna României (birds), published by the Romanian Academy. In 2017, he launched his first book, "Jurnalul unui ornitolog", and in 2021 "Călătorie în jurul omului", which became a Humanitas bestseller along with his latest book in 2022: "Căzuți în junglă". He writes articles in Sinteza and National Geographic magazines.
