About the speaker

In May, we are celebrating

✨
vibrancy

✨
. It can come from different places—sounds, colors, and even interactions with strangers. When was the last time you experienced something that made you feel more alive? These vibrant moments remind us that our world is full of masterpieces.

What better way to celebrate this month’s theme than with colours? Our guest, Vahram Muratyan, embodies this spirit of vibrancy. He is a celebrated French art director and graphic designer, who has been playing with colours in his work to create dynamic and captivating visual stories.

Let’s welcome Vahram Muratyan!

Renowned for his visual book Paris versus New York (Penguin Books / Ed.10-18 in France), Vahram Muratyan is a French art director and graphic designer. Passionate about colorful narratives and creative typographies, Vahram has enhanced the iconic nature of several brands such as Prada and Longchamp. With Longchamp, he illustrated the famous Pliage bag with a bunch of origami paper letters and for the British brand Smythson he adorned their notebooks with a very Parisian "je ne sais quoi".

In 2023, he published Va au Japon, a minimalist graphic novel about his life as a "flâneur" in the Japanese archipelago. For the past three years, he has been the creative director of three French publishing houses: Edition Seghers, the Proche collection, and Pocket Poèmes.

Fun fact! Vahram was named a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2017.
