How did you get your last job? Was it because you were incredibly skilled? Or did you make the right connections?

In our Crossover talk, Joco tells us about his many routes to changing careers and how it wasn’t so much his talent in creative that got him where he is today, but instead he credits the people that have come in and out of his life.

About the speaker

In the dictionary one of the definitions for the word crossover is the process of achieving success in a different field or style.

In basketball the word crossover is defined as a dribbling maneuver in which a player dribbling the ball switches the ball rapidly from one hand to the other, to make a change in direction.

In the Joco’s world the word crossover defined his career and in some ways his life.

Joco works in the creative department as Project Specialist for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors. His day to day consists of managing creative types within the Marketing department to execute campaigns and ads of all sorts. When you look a little closer and listen to the story of his life his career and his path have "crossed over" numerous times. He’ll be the first one to tell you that it’s been due to his creativity in dealing with the one constant in most everyone’s life; the people around him. When the rest of us are creating art and music Joco is creating relationships. Listen as he talks about how he has made leaps into a few careers thus far. Whether you are confused, inspired, or simply amused by his talk you are almost guaranteed to walk away with him as your friend.
