About the speaker
Phil Yisrael, originally from Sydney, Australia, has been living in Amsterdam for 10 years. Growing up around racehorses, Phil became a jockey at age 18. He continued working with horses until he left Australia in 2002, moving to Israel to work for a hi-tech startup company for several years before settling in Amsterdam. He acquired a BA in Filmmaking and Digital Media from Middlesex University and formed his own company, PDY Media, which focused on making corporate videos, music videos and documentaries.
Phil started using Instagram in 2012. He has built up a following of 60k, and a new Instagram marketing business, Winksta. Since then he has provided photographs, run campaigns, organized events and conducted workshops based around Instagram for global brands such as Apple, Facebook, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Levi's, Dorchester Collection Hotels, and Engie.

The Hoxton, Amsterdam is all set to open its doors on the Herengracht canal this summer. It is the first hotel outside of London in The Hoxton series and the former home to the Mayor of Amsterdam now features 111 rooms spread over five floors. The hotel has a restaurant Lotti’s, run in partnership with Soho House & Co, a mezzanine bar for coffee and cocktails, ‘Up Top’, and a meeting and event space, The Apartment. This space also plays host to HoxTown, the Hoxton’s monthly events calendar where you can find anything from inspirational talks with established and emerging brands to a pop-up tattoo parlour and beach bar.
