About the speaker
Viviana was born in México, grew up in sunny Los Angeles, and has been living in Montréal since 2010. She is a multidisciplinary artist with an Architecture degree from the College of Architecture & Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
In 2011, in collaboration with her partner Mark Fekete, she co-founded the interdisciplinary design-build studio Mark + Vivi. Together they purchase, revitalize and live in tiny, forgotten, dilapidated micro- homes, bringing them back to life with a finely curated balance between old and new. Last year, they sold "The Tire Shop Project", their first renovation located in the City of Verdun recently published in the latest Taschen book, Small Architecture Now - it is the only project representing Canada. Today, Mark and Viviana live in their second renovation project located in Pointe-Saint-Charles, and are currently on the lookout for their next rescue.
Viviana recently tackled the virtual world as the Social Media architect of C2MTL, a business conference that explores creative answers to commercial questions.
Someday, she will represent México in La Biennale di Venezia, and collaborate with Pedro Almodóvar.
