About the speaker

Vivian Manasc is a Principal of Manasc Isaac Architects - one of Canada’s leading sustainable design practices. Vivian has recently been appointed to the National Capital Commission Advisory Committee on Planning, Design and Realty. She is Past President and a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada; Past Director of the Canada Green Building Council; Past Vice-Chair of the Board of Economic Development Edmonton; founding member of the Sustainable Buildings Symposium; Adjunct Professor of Architecture at the University of Calgary; and is active in a number of community organizations. She has worked extensively in the area of designing outstanding sustainable buildings for public and corporate sector owners, facilitating an integrated sustainable design process. Vivian is a popular speaker at national and international conferences. Manasc Isaac Architects is a leader in cold-climate sustainable design in Western Canada and has been recognized with a number of significant architectural awards, including the Governor General’s Award in Architecture. Vivian is also co-author of the book, Agora Borealis - Engaging in Sustainable Architecture.
