What are Clubs?
CreativeMorning Clubs are community-led, hyper-local, intimate gatherings around something you love.
Clubs can be recurring or drop-in and can range from hobbies and hang-outs, to skill-building and anything in between.
The Movement Speakeasy
• – • New York, 10003
About this Club
The Movement Speakeasy is an opportunity for people to reimagine their relationship to movement, focused on longevity.
Guests will learn how to move in a fully sustainable, non-abusive, and pleasurable way. (Curiosity, creativity and giggles are greatly appreciated!)
Guests to the speakeasy are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing to move in freely and participate barefoot (if need to wear socks or shoes for any reason, it’s totally ok too). Mats and changing rooms are provided.
✨WHAT TO EXPECT
✔️ Guests will join an immersive 60 min PTBT (physical therapy based training) movement experience, designed for sustainability, pain reduction and injury prevention.🎒WHAT TO KNOW OR BRING
✔️ Water bottle and hand towel (if you like)🍿 BYO SNACKS
We keep Clubs as free as possible to make sure anyone can attend. YAY! And… as a result, club hosts are carrying a lot of the financial weight of something like SNACKS. We know that snacks make any gathering so much fun… so we’re trying something new.👋 If you’re a snack fan, and you’d like to contribute, please bring a snack to share with your fellow Club goers. Nothing fancy. Just something that delights you. That’s it. See you there!
⏰ CLUB START TIME
We offer a 10-minute “Window of Arrival” time where you can get settled, share snacks, sign in, and chat with one another.👉 For example…If your Club start time is 1:00pm Expect to get things going around 1:10pm.
👉 We offer this flex window because we know folks are coming from many different places around town. With that said, please try your best to arrive before 10 minutes past the start time as the activities will be getting started then!
ABOUT YOUR HOST
After being a professional dancer for 20 years (with Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, MTV, MOMIX) I realized that I needed to reframe my own relationship to movement. I had a very aggressive and abusive perspective as a professional dancer and really I believed that I needed to beat myself up to be “the best.” But after a number of humbling injuries, I found physical therapy and I now dedicate my artistic passion to helping others find a kinder, more loving relationship to movement so they can keep doing all the things they love to do for a very long time.
Looking forward to moving with all of you this weekend!
