About the speaker
Terri L. White, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a transformative organizational leader with a diverse career background in operations and the arts. After years of working in some of America's most beloved museums, Terri currently serves as the President and CEO of the Charlotte Museum of History.
Terri's interest in the spirits industry was partially inspired by her paternal grandmother's stories about her family's bootlegging past. After sitting on the idea of legal distilling for years, she finally found the motivation and courage to start her own spirits company, Sugar Top Spirit & Beverage Co., in 2020. Terri has since completed the Distilled Spirits Business Certificate at the University of Louisville, two hands-on classes about distilling at Moonshine University, and is working on launching her first product.
Terri earned her undergraduate degree from Howard University, a Master of Arts degree from George Mason University, and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Terri completed one year of doctoral studies where her research focused on the outcomes of diversity, equity, and inclusion in American corporations, specifically the economic and professional disparities faced by African Americans.
Terri is actively involved in her community and is particularly passionate about supporting cultural and urban health initiatives. She served as the 2022-23 Executive Vice President of the Junior League of Charlotte, is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and is a Life Member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority. She resides in Charlotte.
