About the speaker

Tane Danger is a speaker, interviewer, and event host. He’s the co-founder of Danger Boat Productions and its nationally celebrated flagship show The
Theater of Public Policy. The unique improvisational theater company uses comedy and improv to explore and demystify complex issues. The Star Tribune described the show as “C-SPAN
invaded by the cast of SNL.”

Tane serves as Artist in Resdience at the Mayo Clinic Dolores Jean Lavins Center for
Humanities in Medicine. He utilizes the principles of improv theater to teach medical
professionals vital communication and teamwork skills. He helps doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers enhance their ability to listen actively, respond empathetically, and collaborate more effectively.

Under Tane’s leadership, Danger Boat and the Minnesota Humanities Center launched the Sketches of Minnesota project. The “community-inspired civic improv comedy tour” takes Tane and a cast of improvisers to towns across the state. Each has a community dialogue that is then brought to life on stage. The result are events that celebrate Minnesota communities, promote dialogue, and bridge divides.

Tane's background is as dynamic as his performances. In 2025, he was named a 40 Under 40 Honoree by the Minneapolis - St. Paul Business Journal. A Bush Fellow, he holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs, where he designed a concentration on using improv principles to enhance policy making. He is also a trustee of his undergraduate alma mater, Gustavus Adolphus College.
